4. “I’ve lived this long without wearing a helmet.”我沒有戴頭盔, 但我一直活著很好。

Helmets are MADE to break. That's what they're SUPPOSED to do! Helmets are made of a material that absorbs a blow and will fracture, crush, or break when the head hits something. THAT’S HOW THEY PROTECT THE BRAIN (…and why they’re called “brain buckets”!). Helmets are designed to withstand ONE FALL! Replace a helmet after ANY head impact. It did its job! 頭盔的目的就是破裂， 這就是頭盔應該的作用。頭盔所用的材質(zhì)就是一種遭到突然的撞擊就破碎， 當頭部撞擊到什么東西時， 頭盔就會粉碎，或者破裂。這就是頭盔保護頭部的作用。（也就是為什么頭盔被稱呼為“頭的桶子”）頭盔的設計是至少經(jīng)受住一次的撞擊！在任何一次的碰撞后，要換掉舊的頭盔，這就是頭盔的作用。
A properly fitted helmet should be adjusted to be snug on the head, with the front just above the eyebrows, and the retention straps positioned and tightened to keep the helmet “in place” on the head without sliding around. Bike shop people are EXCELLENT at properly adjusting helmets. 一個合適尺寸的頭盔是可調(diào)節(jié)的，頭盔的前沿剛好在眉毛的上方，頭盔的下方起固定作用的束帶扣緊后， 頭盔的位置恰到好處，而且頭盔不能左右滑動。自行車店里的人在調(diào)節(jié)頭盔這方面是最棒的。
WEAR A HELMET WHENEVER YOU RIDE. It’s like a “seat belt” for your brain! 無論任何時候騎車都要戴頭盔。對你的頭部來講，頭盔就象汽車上的安全帶。
ONLY buy helmets meeting the federal government’s CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) standard for impact protection (applies to all helmets manufactured after March 1999). 買的頭盔要符合CPSC的標準。（根據(jù)1999年3月頭盔制造標準頒布的）
Stick a label inside your helmet with your name, address, phone number, etc. on it for identification purposes in an emergency. 把你的名字、地址、聯(lián)系電話等資料寫個標簽粘貼在頭盔的里面， 以備在緊急情況下使用。
